Improvements to GlobeView, MyGlobeView and Route Risk Advice

Navigation and Access

Firstly, we’ve made improvements to how you can access our platforms. We’ve made the following changes to speed up access, make it easier to find the platform you’re looking for and to help avoid confusion between each of the platforms.

• When you first access our site (nepia.com) you’ll see a temporary advert promoting all three platforms with a brief introduction to each:

• You can now go direct to all three platforms from our website’s top navigation:

• We’ve changed the trending issue block on our homepage masthead to include direct links to all three platforms:

• For those users more familiar with GlobeView, we’ve made it simpler to navigate to MyGlobeView and Route Risk Advice from this platform. Firstly, we’ve amended the splash screen when you first open GlobeView to include information and links to all three platforms (1). Secondly, we’ve added new navigation options across the top of GlobeView and within the layers list making it easier to switch between platforms (2).

New data layers

In addition to the navigational changes above, we’ve also added 10 new layers (falling into four main categories) to MGV and RRA. These new layers have been introduced following consultation with Members on what they’d like to see included, in addition to recommendations from our colleagues within North. These new layers are available within each of the MGV and RRA platform maps and are included in any RRA reports you generate.

• VPS Analysis – Found under port information, we’ve added a suite of new data feeds on bunker fuel from VPS.
  • VPS Bunkering Analysis – Historic, this layer shows the results from analysis of VLSFO bunker samples for the last 12 months on a month by month basis.
  • VPS Bunker Analysis – Top 30 Ports, this layer shows the results from analysis of VLSFO bunker samples over the previous two months with the ports identified based on the bunker sample count.
  • VPS Bunker Analysis – Regions, this layer shows the average regional results from analysis of VLSFO bunker samples over the last 12 months.
  • VPS VLSFO Off-Spec Results – Top 30 Ports, this layer shows the number of samples of VLSFO found to be off-spec over the previous two months with the ports identified based on the bunker sample count.
  • VPS Alerts.
• Country Corruption Index (2020) – found under trading and commercial risks, this new data layer provides a Corruption Perceptions Index score for countries ranked by Transparency International based on the perceived level of public sector corruption. There is also an additional layer which includes each country’s historical ranking from 2012-2020.
• Continental & Oceanic Weather – two new data feeds found under Meteorological Information providing detailed regularly updated information on continental and oceanic weather.
• North’s Correspondents – Found under Contacts, we’ve added the contact details of all North’s Correspondents. Details are updated nightly, mirroring those included in our Correspondents section of the site.

Access

Access to MyGlobeView and Route Risk Advice is available to North Members and Correspondents.

You can access both platforms through your MyNorth account.
