Indonesia - Planned Designated Safe Anchorages
PT Andhika GAC Indonesia reported on 13 June 2014 that the Indonesian authorities are seeking to address the growing trend of piracy in and around Indonesia’s sovereign waters.
Recently there has been an increase of pirates targeting tankers in South Asian waters for hijacking and cargo thefts. The full article can be read here.
The planned establishment of “Designated Safe Anchorages” within some ports will be regularly monitored and patrolled by the Indonesian Maritime Police.

Balikpapan: 01:22.00S-116:53.00E
