OSCAR Dragon Boat Race 2017
On 15 September 2017 North P&I Club will be taking part in the OSCAR Dragon Boat Race to raise money for lifesaving research into childhood cancers and immune diseases.
The OSCAR campaign is a fundraising partnership which unites the international shipping community to raise vital funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital, and its research partner the Institute of Child Health.
The campaign is led by Phil Parry, Chairman of Spinnaker Consulting Ltd, whose son Oscar was diagnosed with leukaemia at just three years old and over five years, received three life-saving transplants at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Oscar was nominated to become the first patient ever in the UK to receive a ground-breaking stem cell transplant. He is living proof of the importance of pioneering research. You can learn more about his story here.
Every penny we raise through taking part in the OSCAR Dragon Boat Race will help to fund ground-breaking new research into childhood disease, so that the hospital’s researchers and clinicians can save even more lives of children facing illnesses like leukaemia.
We are sure that you will agree that this is a fantastic cause, so please dig deep and donate as much as you can: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/teamnorthdragonboatrace2017
Many thanks,
