The 1896 edition of North’s loss prevention publication ‘Suggestions’ reported on the launch of a new ship. The local dignitary attending made a speech in which he said a new ship is not a good ship unless it has the right crew. Those wise words are as true today as they were 120 years ago.
North is focussed on assisting Members to employ the Right Crew. North does this by providing Member benefits such as our PEME, First Call and Post repatriation schemes, by producing loss prevention advice and articles to educate and assist seafarers to keep safe and healthy and most importantly by providing a high quality personal illness and injury claims handling service.
We have also produced an information sheet on People Claims - Controlling the Cost, which highlights a number of initiatives that assist in providing better care for the seafarer, mitigating claims, reducing costs and improving service to Members.
