Byte Night: Thank you for your support
On Friday 5 October 2018, a team from North P&I Club and Future Processing took part in the UK’s biggest sleep-out, Byte Night, to raise money for Action for Children – Youth Homelessness.
The Baltic Flour Mill hosted the event from 6pm – 7am, with lots of fundraising activity throughout the night before the teams ventured outside to experience what it is like to be homeless.
Thank you so much to everyone who supported our team and made such generous donations – we smashed our target and raised just over £7,500. There is still time to donate here.
Around 83,000 homeless young people receive help from homelessness services each year. In total, it is estimated that in the last year around 1.3 million young people aged 16-24 have slept rough or in an unsafe place, and just under 300,000 are doing so on any one night. 67% of young people in homelessness accommodation are there because relatives or friends are no longer willing to accommodate them.
Many thanks,
Team North’s Byte Night Sleepers!
