China - Yellow Fever Requirements *Update*

The enhanced inspection regime, as detailed below, expired in April 2018. This was superseded by a the regulation “Announcement on Preventing Yellow Fever Spreading to China” which was issued by the General Administration of Customs on 22 October 2019. This programme was valid only for a period of three months, expiring in January 2020.
At time of reporting there are no yellow fever inspection regimes currently formalised in place.

North has been informed that the Chinese Quarantine Authorities have started a new enhanced inspection regime for certain vessels.
Due to an outbreak of yellow fever in Nigeria, Peru and certain areas of Brazil, vessels arriving in China from these areas will be subject to new requirements.
The new regime came into effect on 19 January 2018 and affects the vaccination requirements for crew members, as well as new requirements for vessels and any containers being carried on board.
