Whitby and District Fishing Industry Training School Apprentice of the Year
Established in 2002 Whitby and District Fishing Industry Training School (WDFITS) held its 13th annual general meeting and award ceremony on the 13th November 2015.
The school is the UK’s only sea fish industry training facility located in the historical harbour of Whitby. The well-respected program helps keep the industry alive through apprenticeships, providing a wide range of training courses for not only new entrants to the fishing industry, but also experienced fishermen and commercial seafarers.
Sunderland Marine has been a supporter of the Whitby Fishing Industry Training School for several years sponsoring the Apprentice of the Year Award.
Craig McBurnie, Underwriting Manager from Sunderland Marine and Alvin Forster, Loss Prevention Executive from North presented GEORGE LAMPLOUGH with this year’s award.
