The International Group of P&I Clubs - Annual Review 2017/18

The International Group of P&I Clubs has published its 2017/18 Annual Review reporting on the Group’s activities over the past year. During that period, the Group also undertook its first stakeholder research and several working groups have been put in place to ensure progress is made against any issues identified.

The report also mentions that Paul Jennings, CEO of the North of England, will be appointed chairman of the International Group for a three-year term starting on 13 November 2018.

North is a leading member of the International Group of P&I Clubs and is represented on a number of subcommittees addressing the main challenges facing global shipping. The International Group comprises 13 not-for-profit mutual insurance associations that insure third-party liabilities relating to the use and operation of ships. The Group clubs between them insure around 90% of the world’s ocean-going tonnage and around 95% of ocean-going tankers, equating to in excess of 60,000 vessels. In addition, the Group represents the views of shipowners and charterers who are Members of the clubs on matters of concern to the shipping industry.
