P&I Qualification
We are committed to helping you reach your potential and we recognise that training and development plays a big role in this. To support you in your development, we offer access to an industry-standard qualification to all our people, all fully funded by us.
The P&I Qualification (P&IQ)
NorthStandard is a leading member of the International Group of P&I Clubs (IG) and is fully committed to upholding the shared objectives of its 12 independent member clubs, which provide liability cover for approximately 90% of the world’s ocean-going tonnage
Developed in 2007, the P&IQ is NorthStandard’s preferred qualification particularly for those in a Member-facing role. Designed as a standalone programme the PI&Q is recognised by all P&I Clubs in the International Group. The qualification provides an opportunity for you to develop your knowledge in all aspects of the P&I and marine insurance field.
Advantages of the P&IQ:
- The course is structured to allow you to study at your own pace.
- Course materials are accessible to all our people without any obligation to sign up for the exams.
- There’s flexibility in how you complete the course – after passing modules one, two and three you can choose what to study next and when.
- NorthStandard has a support network of mentors to help you at each step of the way and for UK employees, exams are held on site at our Newcastle head office.
