FD&D Shipping Solicitor (Greece)

Calling all litigators! Would you like to join a world-leading legal team which specialises in shipping litigation and dispute resolution?

North is the second largest provider of marine insurance in the International Group of P&I Clubs, which collectively insure around 90% of the world’s ocean going ships.

With over 35 qualified lawyers, handling the majority of our legal work in-house, our FD&D department is recognised as being an industry-leader in this field of law.

The FD&D team deals with a wide-variety of contractual and tortious claims for our global membership of ship owners and operators. Given the worldwide nature of shipping, this role involves handling legal proceedings in numerous jurisdictions, travel both in Greece and abroad, building relationships with Members and attending external events. The role is both challenging and interesting, with most well-publicised world events impacting shipping and our Members’ underlying commercial arrangements.

What are we looking for?

You should be a qualified lawyer working in shipping or litigation, ideally with strong academics and over two years’ experience working for a top-tier legal practice (although applications from other qualified lawyers will also be considered). You should also be able to demonstrate commitment, flexibility and the ability to work well under pressure.

The Role

This position offers you a unique opportunity to develop a legal specialism while working for a global, industry-leading company. You will be based in Piraeus, Greece and will receive an excellent remuneration package, including competitive salary and other attractive benefits.
