Tony Allen
Greek Office Manager
Tony is a qualified solicitor who worked for 10 years in private practice before joining North of England's P&I Department. He now manages the Club's Greek office and deals with all aspects of P&I Claims.
Michael joined the Association in January
2000 having spent two and a half years with
the South African law firm Shepstone & Wylie. As well as
being admitted as an Attorney in South Africa,
Michael is also admitted as a Solicitor in
England and Wales.
Iain spent sixteen years at sea, predominantly
on dry bulk tonnage. He holds a British Master
Mariner's Certificate and has sailed as Master
on bulk carriers. On leaving sea, Iain joined
Clyde & Co in London where he was involved
in "dry work". He began work in
the Association's Claims Department in July
1995 and primarily handles admiralty, pollution and cargo claims. He obtained
an LLB (Honours) in 2002. Between 2000 and 2004, Iain worked at the Association's Hong Kong Office.
Adrian, a solicitor, joined the Association
in 1999 from maritime lawyers Rayfield Mills
having previously worked in Eversheds' shipping
department. He has broad experience in all
aspects of shipping and marine insurance litigation
in the English High Court and London Arbitration
and also in providing supervision, advice
and opinions for use in overseas proceedings.
He has an LLB (Honours) degree and is primarily
concerned with cargo, admiralty and pollution
claims. He is also involved in overseeing
the claims of charterer members. Adrian became
a manager in July 2003.
Tony joined the Association in 1985 and handled personal injury, fines, fixed and floating objects and pollution cases, until 2004 when he moved to become primarily involved with our sister company Marine Shipping Mutual Insurance dealing with Hull and Machinery claims.
Iain is a qualified solicitor
having joined the Association in November 2005 from Eversheds, where he was an Associate in the Shipping and International Trade Department specialising in a wide range of maritime matters including admiralty, P&I and FD&D related work. Prior to qualifying as a lawyer Iain spent 11 years as a police officer where he reached the rank of Detective Sergeant and prior to that spent five years at sea as a deck officer serving on container ships, bulk carriers and oil tankers.
Ken joined the Association in September
1988 after having previously been with average
adjusters Richards Hogg in Glasgow for some
thirteen years. He is primarily involved
with our sister company MSMI, dealing with
hull and machinery matters, however, he
also handles claims in respect of fixed
and floating objects, pollution and admiralty
matters for the Association.
Dev first went to sea as a Navigaing Cadet in 1983. After qualifying as Master Mariner and gaining a degree in Education and Training he became Senior Lecturer with the Faculty of Nautical Science at South Tyneside College for ten years. In 2002 Dev gained command and served as Master aboard Irish Ships, trading in Europe and the Mediterranean. He has been an External Examiner with the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency for Masters level Ship Stability and was involved with Pilotage and VTS trainig with full mission bridge simulation
Stephen has over fifteen years experience in P&I cargo, admiralty and personal injury claims and joined the North of England in July 2005 from the American Club.
Peter obtained a degree in Commerce and Administration and worked in a port agency for nine years. He then switched career to maritime law by gaining an LLM in Maritime Law from the University of Wales, Cardiff and qualifying as a solicitor with Clyde & Co in 1993. He joined the Association in 1998 after five years experience with Ocean Marine Mutual.
Colin joined the Association in 1995. He is a qualified Master Mariner and spent ten years at sea with P&O as a deck officer principally in the Bulk Shipping Division. On leaving the sea in 1985 he spent a year lecturing in maritime subjects at South Tyneside College before joining Newcastle maritime solicitors Eversheds and subsequently Rayfield Mills, where he specialised in salvage and collision matters.
Robert joined Newcastle P&I in 1987. Previously he spent nine years at sea with BP and Ben Line. He holds a Class 2 Deck Certificate and a BSc in Maritime Studies. Before joining Newcastle P&I he spent three years with another P&I Club and three years with a firm of London solicitors doing mainly collision and salvage work. He deals with admiralty and cargo claims.
John joined Newcastle P&I Association in 1986 after graduating with an Honours Degree in law. He worked in the claims department for twelve years, dealing with a wide variety of claims. He is now primarily concerned with cargo and admiralty work.
Henry joined the Association in 2000 from Liverpool & London P&I. Previously he served with the Corporation of Lloyd's. He had a number of years prior P&I claims experience with Steamship Mutual, having previously worked in the bills department of Hambros Bank Ltd.
