Ocean Youth Trust - Annual Charity Row
In aid of the Ocean Youth Trust North staff took part in an 8.4 mile ‘Annual Charity Row’ from Castle Quay on Newcastle’s Quayside to South Shields Marine School’s Seamanship Centre at South Shields on Saturday 26 May 2012.
The event hosted three boats from South Tyneside College, two from South Shields Marine School, one from Fleetwood Nautical College, one from TS Collingwood Sea Cadets South Shields and one boat from North. At the end of the row, participants along with their family and friends were invited for a BBQ and drinks at the Marine Safety Training Centre in South Shields.
Each year the Ocean Youth Trust continues to advance its mission of the personal development of young people through Adventure under Sail. They work with young people age 12 to 25 helping them discover their true potential. Irrespective of background they offer a safe, exhilarating residential experience that changes lives and builds futures.
The ‘Annual Charity Row’ has so far raised a total of £525, which the North 150 Fund has kindly offered to match, resulting in the £1000 target being achieved.
