Children's Heart Unit - Opening of Playroom and Garden
Mari Stewart attended the opening of a new playroom and garden in the Freeman hospital for children who are patients on the heart unit.
The North 150 Fund made a contribution to the Seb4Chuf fund which financed the new play area. The Seb4Chuf fund raised around £300,000 and is run by the Hollingsworth family, whose son Sebastian had a lifesaving operation shortly after birth.
The new playroom and garden have been transformed from a dark corner to an amazing bright room with a sensory TV, an Xbox and play area for smaller kids. The outside space has a new sound system, a bouncy ‘tarmac’ painted road, a large wooden train, traffic lights and a ticket office.
