Andrew's Road to Recovery - Charity Bike Rides
On 11 September 2015, two teams of riders from North and Sunderland Marine will set off on charity bike rides over three days, following the Sandstone Way Off-road Cycle Route from Berwick upon Tweed to Hexham and the Coast to Coast Cycle Route from Whitehaven to Hexham.
The aim is to help raise money for treatment and equipment needed to assist our ex-Sunderland Marine colleague, Andrew Bell, during his recuperation following a motorcycle accident.
These challenging routes pass through a variety of hilly countryside, towns and villages including the Cheviots, the Lake District and the Pennines. The teams will start on opposite coasts and merge on the Tyne near Hexham. Those with sufficient energy reserves will
The teams consist of Andrew Stichbury, Graham Anderson, Ed Davies and Henry Woods on the Coast to Coast Route – Simon MacLeod, Mark Smith, Colin Gillespie, Wilf How, James Simison and Martin Reavley on the Sandstone Way.
