To celebrate 150 years, a team of 11 staff from North’s Newcastle office cycled 150 miles to help raise money for the 150 Year Fund.
Congratulations to Andrew Stitchbury, Simon McLeod, Henry Woods, Andrew Kirkham, Steven Lynas, Mark Robinson, Iain Goulson, Ed Davies, Ian Gilchrist, Colin Gillespie and Michael Hustler, who completed the route. The riders embarked upon 150 miles of Hadrian's Cycleway, over three days, from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, following the entire line of Hadrian's Wall.
Saturday 18th September:
Whitehaven, Cumbria to Port Carlisle, Cumbria
Sunday 19th September:
Port Carlisle to Twice Brewed, Northumberland
Monday 20th September:
Twice Brewed to Tynemouth.
Highlights on the route included cycling along the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and being treated to an impromptu and enjoyable "wet" pub quiz courtesy of the landlord at the Blacksmith's Arms in Haltwhistle. Of course, no one could forget the elation of reaching the highest point of the route followed by the fast decent to Corbridge and then along the Tyne Valley to the east coast, with a stop-off at the new North building on the Newcastle Quayside!
We would like to thank everyone who supported the team and kindly donated to the 150 Year Fund.
